Methodology
Where the numbers come from
- Applicant reports: the step dates applicants share on Dossiermap. This is the only source of processing times (medians).
- Services Publics+ (DITP, Licence Ouverte 2.0): number of reviews published about each prefecture and their tone. These are opinions and are never mixed with processing times.
- Annuaire de l'administration (DILA, Licence Ouverte 2.0): the list of prefectures, sub-prefectures and naturalisation platforms, and the départements they cover.
- Official sources: information some prefectures publish (for example which application quarter is currently being invited to interview), with a link to the source.
How the median is computed
- For each office and each segment (for example application → decision), we compute each case's duration, then the median and the range covering the middle 50% of cases (first to third quartile).
- "Last 12 months" includes segments completed during those 12 months.
- If you only give the month, the date counts as the 15th.
- Negative durations and durations over 6 years are excluded. Extreme values (above Q3 + 3 × the interquartile range) are not deleted but held for review.
- A median is published from 3 cases, labelled "limited data" until 10.
Cases still waiting
A median based only on completed cases underestimates processing times at an office with a growing backlog: the longest cases are not finished yet. That is why each page also shows how many people are waiting, at which step, and for how long.
Against fake reports
- Anti-bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) and a daily limit per connection, without storing IP addresses.
- Consistency checks: step order, future dates, impossible durations. Inconsistent reports are left out of the statistics.
- Cases tracked with an account and updated over time are treated as more reliable.
Indexed pages
A prefecture page is only offered to search engines once it holds enough data (at least 5 completed cases over 12 months, or an official source plus at least 20 Services Publics+ reviews). Other pages remain available but are not indexed.
Reuse
The summary figures shown on this site may be quoted with a mention of "Dossiermap" and the update date. Detailed and historical data is not openly available; for reuse, write to info@dossiermap.com.
